David Beardsley, MD

David Beardsley, MD serves as the Medical Director of the Surgi-Center of Central Virginia in Fredericksburg and a Chief of Anesthesia for Anesthesia Concepts.

In his current position, Dr. Beardsley serves as the Medical Director of the Surgi-Center of Central Virginia (SCCV) located in Fredericksburg. SCCV is one of the busiest surgery centers in central Virginia. As a senior boarded anesthesiologist, Dr. Beardsley completed cardiothoracic anesthesia fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1991 followed by a Master in Business Administration from the College of William and Mary in 2002. His background includes over 33 publications on anesthesia.

His clinical and administrative experience is extensive starting as a triple major at Williams College (Chemistry, Economics, History) and an early graduate of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1984. During his 33 year Naval career, Dr. Beardsley served in multiple roles as a flight surgeon, emergency medicine physician, anesthesiologist, and twice, as a commanding officer most recently as the commanding officer (COO) of the first Federal Health Care Center (FHCC). The FHCC is a unique 3,000 employee hospital system created by the merger, and administrative integration, of a DOD Military Treatment Facility and Veterans Affairs Medical Center in North Chicago, Illinois. Lovell FHCC was recently awarded a Joint Commission golden key, placing it within the top 13% of 3000 participating medical institutions within the United States.
