Dr. Luck received his medical education at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. His Masters of Science degree in Human Physiology was also conferred at Georgetown University. His clinical training in anesthesia includes a residency in anesthesia at the University of California at Los Angeles. After his residency with concentrations in Ambulatory Anesthesia and Neurosurgical Anesthesia at UCLA, he worked as a staff anesthesiologist at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, a 900 bed Level 1 regional trauma center. He was actively involved in resident and staff education in cases ranging from major organ transplantation, cardiothoracic/major vascular, burns, and ambulatory surgery.

In 1996, Dr. Luck founded, and was President of, The Anesthesia Group, P.C., to provide clinical anesthesia services at Northern Virginia Community Hospital and Pentagon City Hospital in Arlington, VA. While there, he was instrumental in expanding clinical anesthesia services to include the development of an inpatient Acute Pain Service while introducing regional anesthetic techniques involving neuraxial and peripheral nerve blocks with and without indwelling catheters. He worked closely with the orthopedic surgeons in establishing protocols for major joint replacements. Dr. Luck was instrumental in establishing a Bariatric Surgery program using innovative techniques and therapies to promote excellent clinical outcomes with extremely low morbidity in these often medically complicated cases. He was the first in the area to establish the use of dexametatomidine in bariatric surgery to vastly improve pain management, decrease phase 1 PACU time and ultimately time to discharge. Dr. Luck was able to significantly improve quality of care and patient throughput by implementing systems thoughtfully tailored for each perioperative phase.

While at Northern Virginia Community Hospital, in addition to serving as the Chief of the Medical Staff and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Northern Virginia Community Hospital, he served on many process improvement committees including Medical Quality Management, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Department of Surgery, Critical Care and Pain Management Performance Improvement. His understanding of the various state and federal health regulatory requirements as well as accreditation processes contributed to the integration of the medical and business practices of the hospital. He served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Dominion Hospital in Arlington, VA until March 2008.

Dr. Luck joined Dr. Jordan in Anesthesia Concepts in 2005. His experience and leadership abilities have contributed to the continued growth and expansion of AC into new markets and clinical opportunities. He brings an extensive depth of knowledge to the management team of AC concerning regulatory and accreditation issues. Focus on quality clinical outcomes, continuous process improvement and patient and surgeon satisfaction have been hallmarks of his career. Dr. Jordan and Dr. Luck present a formidable management team to oversee the provision of anesthesia services and the integration of these services into a successful and consistent operating environment.
